Brendan was born on the 18th october after a few hours of hard labour, we had a few problems at first, I had an instinct that something was wrong, this was dismissed the first few days of his life. I enjoyed being a Mum and love Brendan so much, at 3 months he nearly died after a bout of bronchiolitis, but he was a fighter and recovered! A few weeks later he developed the same symptoms and the doctors thought something more was going on. Brendan had cardiomyopathy, a heart problem cured only by transplant. Regardless brendan was put on medication and discharged from hospital. He was always a low weight and as he grew older other problems came to the forefront. However Brendan was a precious little boy, full of the joys of spring despite all his problems. He died aged 18 months following contracting pneumonia, which his broken little heart couldn't cope with.
Brendan was a special little boy, he was intelligent and but his body held him back and he got frustrated. Brendan was and still is remembered and missed by so many people. As his mum, he was an inspiration, so happy despite the pain and my little fighter.
